May 23, 2023CAPS Remodeling’s mission is to avoid injuries in all areas of the home, especially in the bathroom.
The National Safety Council (NSC), in its most recent report, highlighted that there were 156,300 preventable injury-related deaths annually which occurred in homes and communities. Year-over- year, the number of deaths was up 18.9% total of 131,400. More than 25% of older adults fall each year – 3,000,000 are treated in emergency rooms and 800,000 are hospitalized due to fall injuries including head injuries and hip fractures. A leading cause of death among adults 65 and older is falls.
CAPS Remodeling of Southeast Michigan and West Florida take pride in providing greater safety in homes, especially in the bathroom where it is easier to fall or slip due to the presence of water and often small spaces.
For this reason, CAPS Remodeling, base out of Madison Heights, MI and Englewood, Florida, work with customers to identify specific safety solutions and products to maximize the safety and functionality of all home environments. Strategic home modifications including ramps, rails, grab bars, shower seats, accessible sinks, walk-in tubs and other home modifications are common safety additions. To increase safety in the bathroom environment it is most important to install grab bars. All of our grab bars are ADA-approved, high-quality and designed to last a lifetime.
Ensuring dignity of movement and autonomy in the home and bathroom is one of the indispensable pillars of our safety solutions. Our goal is to effectively improve the lives of older adults and people with mobility challenges at home. Preventative safety device installation can drastically reduce the risk of domestic falls and accidents. Having a safe home allows our customers in Metro Detroit and West Florida to live in their homes for as long as possible, which is most people’s preference.
Another way to increase safety and functionality in the bathroom is a conventional bathtub that can be replaced with a roll-in or walk-in shower, including a no-threshold or flush shower tray with an addition of a shower seat and grab bars in the shower area.
The home and the bathroom environment should be places where every person, regardless of age or ability, is able to move around safely, feeling confident and at ease. This is the reason why we consult every day to look for the right solutions that are both functional and affordable.
At CAPS, we provide free consultations to determine the best solutions to improve the safety and happiness of our customers. Safe is our first concern for everyone. It’s never too soon for a conversation.
For home barrier-free interior solutions (as mentioned above) and exterior accessibility solutions such as temporary aluminum ramps and permanent wood ramps, we are ready to assist.
